Description Oil painting of Gideon Granger I in a carved and gilded frame. Granger is seated in a red chair edged in gold, and is wearing a black coat and ruffled shirt (in front and at cuffs). He is holding a book. Painting given or bequeathed to the Memorial Art Gallery in 1926 and 1930 by Antoinette Pierson Granger to be left at the Granger Homestead. (From 1946 correspondence GHS/MAG)
