The Granger Place School
The Granger Homestead was home to the Granger Place School for girls from 1876-1905. Under the direction of Miss Caroline Comstock, the school offered a college preparatory program for girls from Canandaigua as well as boarding students from throughout the United States.
During the school period, a large annex was added to the mansion, and the third floor was expanded to create dormitory rooms. Moved to the rear of the mansion around 1906, the annex is now a carriage barn, and part of the Carriage Museum.
