Making a donation:
The Granger Homestead Society would be pleased and
grateful to accept a donation in any amount to help us continue our work
promoting knowledge and understanding of the
history of Canandaigua, New York and the surrounding region through its
stewardship of the Homestead's holdings as resources for public education, use
and appreciation. This purpose shall be fulfilled by preserving,
maintaining and interpreting its site, structures and collections and making
them available to the public for research, educational programs, and
appropriate private and community functions.
Create a legacy through charitable
giving:
The benefits of making a philanthropic gift are
far-reaching. Different types of planned giving can provide for the
current and future financial needs of you, your spouse and your family.
For example, a charitable remainder trust (also called a lifetime
income gift) allows you and your heirs an annual income that is
either a fixed dollar amount or a fixed percentage for life. And all
giving options allow for a variety of tax advantages.
But there are also heartfelt benefits.
Through charitable planned giving, you can help instill a sense of tradition
and value in your children, friends, and colleagues. The income
generated by the principal of your gift can make an impact for generations to
come. And an investment in people is one that continues forever.
Make it a part of your financial plan:
Charitable planned giving is like any other
investment that you make. You don't need to give away tremendous amounts
of money to make a difference. Small well-placed gifts are effective
ways to support one or more causes that you care about. Causes that
reflect your values. And gifts don't have to be strictly cash. Any
asset may be given such as stocks, bonds, real estate, jewelry, vehicles and
so on. As a matter of fact, giving assets may offer you more tax
advantages than only giving cash.
