Carriage Rides are offered June through October

Historic District Tour: Friday and Sunday afternoons at 1-3 pm This 45-minute antique horse drawn carriage tour begins and ends at the Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum. The ride takes passengers on a fascinating trip back in time through the side streets of the Canandaigua Historic District and onto the grounds of Sonnenberg Gardens. The driver shares historical tales and folklore while pointing out a wealth of fine architecture along the way.

Woodlawn Cemetery Tour: Wednesday afternoons  at 1:15, 2:15 and 3:15 (pick up tickets at Granger on the hour- 10 minutes of additional travel time to the cemetery is needed.)

This 45-minute antique horse drawn carriage tour begins and ends at the Chapel, built by the Thompsons, at nearby Woodlawn Cemetery. However, passengers must pick up tickets and directions first at the Granger Homestead and Carriage Museum.  The carriage ride takes passengers on a stroll though a beautiful park-like cemetery.  The driver relates historical details while sharing tales of the famous and infamous (former) residents of this area. This is a great ride for the history buff or a starting point for researching ancestors for the family tree.

Everyone On” Wagonette Tour
Friday afternoons (45 minute or 10 minute rides). Our modern wagonette is handicapped accessible for most wheelchairs or just anyone with mobility challenges. Select either the Historic District tour or Granger property ride. Handicapped person must have an able-bodied companion on the ride.

Handicapped rides require an able-bodied person for the handicapped person. 45-minute ride package price for these two people is: $45. Additional able bodied persons in the carriage are regular prices of $25 for adults, $15 children ages 3-12, under 3 free.

10-minute ride package price for these two people is: $14. Additional able bodied persons in the carriage are regular prices of $8 for adults, $5 children ages 3-12, under 3 free. This vehicle can accommodate a total of 5 passengers plus the drive if everyone is able to walk onto the carriage using the ramp If a wheelchair is in the back, there is only room for one more person in the back and one person in the front with the driver.

Each carriage holds three adult passengers, or a combination of adults and children as space permits. Each carriage has a weight limit of 600 pounds.

The Granger Homestead has a carriage that everyone can ride in. It is a custom-made handicapped accessible Wagonette.  This carriage was specially made for the Granger Homestead and is available to rent for special occasions or for use during regularly scheduled hours with advance notice.
